It took me a ridiculous amount of time to narrow down my top choices from this past year. In total, I shot over 60 portrait sessions and 13 weddings this past year. Which is triple what I shot last year in portraits and almost double in weddings (let’s hope I do that again in 2010!)....

:: first christmas ::
I love this time of year. I love the reason for Christmas and I love celebrating it. But this year was extra special. This year, for the first time ever, my husband and I celebrated Christmas with our son.
Our son.
It was full of wonder and excitement and anxiety and love and fun and every good...
:: the mini workshop ::
I’ve been getting a lot of inquiries lately on photography lessons. I may not be a world famous photographer, but if people find it helpful to see what I do and how I do it, I figured, what the hey, why not? I started out doing only one-on-one sessions. And they’re crazy fun. But I...

:: From Tummy Time to Talking ::
How did we get here? No seriously, since I can’t trust my brain to work properly, lately I find myself utterly bewildered by the simplest of things like THE PASSAGE OF TIME. I mean, it was yesterday that Preston and I were braving that mysterious and magical thing called...
:: moriah : newborn portraits ::
Ok, so it probably seems like I’m pretty much only a newborn photographer lately. But seriously, I think everyone I know has either just had a baby or is about it (the next baby should be arriving anyday – come on Baby Barker!). Five friends are all due within the same 3 week period in...
:: arlynn & jackson : newborn portraits ::
There’s something about those first moments. The first time a mother holds her child. Those intimate first hours in the hospital. Those first few days and weeks at home. The smell of a newborn just barely welcomed into this world. The tiny fragility of their perfect little scrunchy, wrinkly bodies.
There’s something about those first handful...
:: rosie & elisabeth : corporate portraits ::
Every now and then I get to branch out of my usual routine of weddings and portraits and end up doing a different style of shoot. This time I was excited to work with Rosie and Elisabeth for their website needs. They run a consulting firm in the pharmaceutical realm (translation – way out of...
:: arlynn & jackson : sneak peek ::
I promise I’ll get all caught up on blogs soon – for realsies – but first, a little sneak peek from one of my sessions with sweet little miss Arlynn and mister Jackson earlier today! I love working with multiples…
More from their sessions, plus a few other newborns, a couple of families and a whole...
:: carlin cousins : portraits ::
Holy CROW (yes, crow, now cow), it’s been a long time since I sat down and got to give some tender lovin’ care to my blog! I’m way way way behind people, but I’m grateful to my clients for their incredible patience. Aren’t the holidays NUTS? Well, I survived Thanksgiving and the craziness surrounding...
:: nikhil & pooja : sneak peek ::
Just a couple of sneak peeks from my two day extravaganza of shooting with Roy Abraham of Pentafour Media. It was an absolutely amazing (and way informative) couple of days and I can’t wait to share more. I was in photography heaven…
The dancing was my favorite part. I so don’t have the energy to keep...
