It’s really a very special time. Yeah, I know. That sounds extremely cliche. But it really is true. The final weeks of a pregnancy, the countdown, the anticipation, the true expecting in those last days and weeks is like no other time. The term “pregnant pause” is exactly right. After the planning and baby showers, somewhere in those last few weeks, when everything is done and the waiting game begins, there is a silence that comes, a stillness.

It is a time spent looking forward. Of wondering. Of hopes and dreams.

It is a time a deep love not yet understood.

And though it is also uncomfortable, wearying, and yes, sometimes painful, it is still utterly unique.

And, as is often true of things that bring pain, it is also beautiful. And worth it.

Andrea + Brian, I can’t wait to hear the news of Hunter’s arrival! I know the due date has come and gone, but he’ll be here soon! Blessings to you both and your amazing new family. And welcome to the best “club” on earth!
